Dear Howie:
Thank for your inquiry.
When I think of Japanese healing methods, "reiki" or
just "ki" and "shiatsu" come to my
mind.Unfortunately there are only few places which offer
training sessions taught by Japanese instructors compared
to those taught by non-Japanese instructors.
Reiki:
International Ki Ryokukai NY Dojo
Fight House
122 West 27th Street (Bet 6 & 7th Ave)
2nd Floor
New York, NY 10001
347-495-3955

Atacama Healing Center
8 East 74th Street (Bet 5th & Madison Ave)
New York, NY 10021
212-744-3270
http://www.atacama.org/
(They used to offer training classes, but maybe only with referrels.)
Shiatsu:
Ohashi Institute
147 West, 25th Street6th Floor
New York, NY 10001
800-810-4190
646-486-1187

By the way, "thank you" in Japanese sounds likes "adigato" but
it actually spells "arigato" with "r." Just for your
information.
